We know food is a major element of a good surf charter, so we take it seriously. Our chefs are experienced in western and Indonesian cuisine and know what surfers want. Our boats feature modern kitchens to allow our chefs to work their magic.
We use only the best ingredients — fresh vegetables and quality chicken, beef and lamb. Fresh fish is always present on the menu, of course, and you can definitely expect to see fish go from the ocean to the table within a few hours while on charter. When we are catching fish, sashimi is often a nice addition to sunset beers!
Mentawai veterans who’ve done charters on a number of boats rave about our food! If you have any dietary requests, our chefs are more than happy to accommodate.
Breakfast
Once you awake, you’ll be greeted by a fresh fruit platter, cereals to choose from and toast. A fresh brew of Sumatran coffee will be waiting to get you going. If coffee’s not your thing, tea and Milo are available too.
Lunch
A hot lunch is served up around noon and always features high energy foods, such as fish burgers, rice noodles and satay chicken skewers, prawn cutlets and noodles, steak burgers, gado gado, nasi goreng and fried chicken. If you’re out surfing don’t worry, your lunch will be kept for you!
Morning Tea
A hot breakfast is served up after your first surf, generally around 9-10am. A different breakfast is served every day and includes omelettes, egg sandwiches, french toast, pancakes, breakfast burritos, poached/scrambled/fried eggs, etc.
Dinner
Dinner is served up after sunset. It is a buffet style spread always featuring a number of meat and vegetable options. Expect amazing food including roast lamb, a Mexican night, a BBQ steak and chicken night, an Italian night.
To keep you hydrated we have a wide range of drinks. Of course there is the Bintangs (3 complementary beers per day, extra can be purchased prior to departure at cost), a wide range of soft drinks and juice, tea, coffee and Milo. Fresh unlimited drinking water is produced by on-board desalinators, this is dispensed hot and cold. We also have electrolyte sachets on board to ensure you stay hydrated!
